FIREFIGHTERS were called when gear at the back of a van caught fire.
But by the time they arrived the situation was under control and they were not needed.
Passerby Ken Mumford, who lives in Swindon, grabbed this picture of a bag burning on the pavement near the van.
He said: "As I was walking back from KFC, near Hereford railway station, when I suddenly saw flames coming from the back of a black van.
"The man running across in the picture had stopped his van on the opposite side of the road, dashed into a shop and came out with two bottles of water. I assume he used them to fight the fire, which was by then almost out – although you can see some burning materials that had apparently been thrown out of the van onto the pavement."
There were no reported injuries.
