JAZZ musicians have been entertaining city centre crowds as the Hereford BID’s latest project, Alive after Five, gets underway.

Operations marketing manager Mike Truelove said: “The six week project complements the fantastic ambience of the city as workers finish on a Friday or people come in to the city for an evening meal or drink.”

Each week up to 20 musicians will perform including Stephen Constance and his band in Broad Street who was joined by groups placed at the Old Market, Widemarsh Street, High Street and High Town. The last event will run on Friday 6th September.

Since it was set up in 2015, Hereford BID has delivered various promotional campaigns and set up the Ferrous event which, they say attracted 10,000 additional visitors in its first year and 45,000 in its second.

It says it is well on track to deliver all its planned projects before the end of its initial five-year term and is currently consulting businesses on the prospect of a second BID term from April 2020.
