Worcester Tile is a long-established independent city firm, supplying tiles in a range of different styles from around the world.

Chris Jordan has been with the firm for the last 25 years, and has worked in tiling all his life, having previously worked for company in Stourbridge before arriving in Worcester.

Looking back, he said: “The industry and the job has changed massively since I’ve been here. When I started it was much more DIY and cash and carry, there wasn’t a massive amount of choice.

“All that has changed now and we have got tiles from around Europe in a variety of styles. The other thing that has really changed is the emphasis on design now. Whereas before it was pretty much magnolia or cream, now there is so much choice and diversity for people to go for.”

For Worcester Tile, one of the most important aspects of the company’s work is being able to offer customers as wide a range as possible, with the expertise to help them make their choice.

The range on offer includes big name manufacturers such as tiles and flooring from leading manufacturers including Karndean, Porcelanosa, Ted Todd, Marlborough and Original Style.

General manager Jim Dobbs said: “We pride ourselves on our reputation and we are known for providing quality in everything that we do. We are the only company in Worcestershire that will retail tiles and fit them which gives us something really unique.”

At the Worcester Tile showroom in Checketts Lane, customers can see the full range of tiles on offer and get design advice from the team, enabling them to see for themselves before they buy.

Chris added: “In this job, you are never doing the same thing from day to day because the designs and projects are all so different.

“We were one of the first companies to import tiles from Spain which gave us a real edge as we could have a much more diverse range and offer something a bit different which is something that continues to this day.”
