Singer-songwriter, musician and author Nell Bryden returns to Huntingdon Hall in Worcester this June, for a celebration of her musical roots and literary inspiration.

Nell is on a brand new 15-date tour with a plan to celebrate her greatest influences, including Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin and Carole King.

A spokesman said: “The tour follows the recent release of Nell’s long-awaited EP, Soundtrack To Little Wing — Part 1. Recorded at Ray Davies’ Konk Studios in London, the EP features BBC Radio 2 playlisted single Smoke In My Heart, and forms part of a companion album to her soon-to-be-released debut novel, Little Wing.

“The story of how Nell Bryden is building on her status as a distinguished singer-songwriter by writing her first novel is a real page-turner in itself. The New York-born, London-based artist is marrying her musical and literary skills in a unique new chapter in her career that will delight her legions of existing admirers and draw in many new ones.”

The spokesman added: “Bryden’s incisive and compelling songs have made her a familiar figure on live stages and radio playlists, with a distinguished catalogue of albums and singles dating back to the early 2000s. But as Nell set about how to follow her most recent long player, 2017’s Bloom, something entirely unplanned happened to her: She fulfilled a lifetime ambition to express herself not only as a composer and performer of music, but as an author.

“As a collection of songs in its own right, Soundtrack To Little Wing — Part 1 is a delight, and marks another debut – that of Bryden as a producer of her own work. Four brand new compositions on the EP form the first in what will be a series of releases designed to preview, and complement, her debut novel. They stand for themselves as some of Nell’s best work ever, but they also serve as our introduction to the characters we will meet in the novel.”

The date for the diary is Saturday June 29 at 7.30pm.
