A KIDDERMINSTER performing arts group is celebrating its fifth birthday and seventh production with a musical favourite.

Talking Props Performing Arts Studios based in Green Street will stage their own production of Hairspray at the Stourport Civic from July 17 to 20.

The studio will also be celebrating its birthday with two upcoming concerts in Rees Community Café, on Saturday July 6 at 7pm, and another at The Swan in Stourport on Sunday July 7 at 2pm.

Last year, Talking Props staged a sell-out production of Les Misérables in 2018, which received a warm reception.

Principal Michael Neri said, “I’m so pleased that the team I have are able to provided such a wide rang of experiences for the young people of Wyre Forest, the arts is a very important part of developing ourselves and to be able to work with so many outstanding young people is just humbling to say the least”.

Michael added: “In five years we have managed to provide a stable in the community, a studio that is professional in its teaching and standards, teaches children the vales of community, confidence and friendship but also, should they wish, will give them the best foot forward to a career in entertainment.

Tickets for the production are available via talkingprops.co.uk, the civic box office, or the Talking Props Studios Reception.
