THE Beacon Camera Club in Malvern is holding a 'Summer Bash' next month.

The bash, featuring live music, food and games, features two live bands playing, starting around 8pm with Porcelain City, playing pop & rock covers; followed by The Lewis Bolton Trio, who will be playing covers along with some of their original songs.

The ticket also includes chilli (meat & veggie options) and there will be a bar, a prize for the funniest summer hat, a raffle, fun photo booth and chilli eating competition.

The club also celebrated its annual Awards evening on the 30th May in honour of the amazing photography created by its Members during 2018-19.

One member, Paul Lack, was the proud winner of the Malvern Gazette Cup, for Best Colour print.

Mr Lack said: “It was really quite an honour to hear my name called out for the Malvern Gazette Challenge cup which was first awarded in 1949.

“And I’m chuffed to bits that it was for the best colour print, in the round up of the best pictures from the year.

“I’ve only been a member of the Beacon club for 18 months, and as you can see, I have learnt such a lot.”

The club has recently gained charity ‘not for profit’ status and prides itself on providing over 200 events through out the year for just £55 for a single person.

Even non-locals can become members, and competitions can be entered online such as the Charlie Williams Cup, won this year by Zoe Harbord.

The Beacon Camera club is a charity organisation with more than 100 members based in Malvern at The Vale Community Centre.

The event is being held to help raise funds for the club, so they can keep offering their resources to the community.

The Summer bash is being held on July 6 at Malvern Rugby Club, with the doors opening at 7pm.

Tickets for the event are £10 and can be bought through the club's website www.beaconcameraclub.co.uk, from club members, or through Eventbrite.

There are also tickets at a reduced price of £6 for 16 & 17 year olds.
