A HEREFORDSHIRE home care company is celebrating the result of their latest CQC inspection.

Leominster based Marches Home Care Services, which currently provides personal care to 28 people, was visited by the industry watchdog in March this year.

The inspection found that the service provided by the company, previously rated as 'good' across the board when inspected in 2016, remained good for safe, effective, caring, responsible care and was outstandingly well-led.

"We were repeatedly told by people and relatives that Marches Home Care Service Limited was very well-led," inspectors said.

"We found evidence during the inspection process which confirmed this was the case.

"The registered provider was committed to developing a service which was person-centred and responsive to people's needs. There were strong links with the community to improve the health and well-being of people in general.

"Everyone we spoke with said they would recommend the service to other people.

"They told us staff often went above and beyond to ensure people were happy and safe."

The report praised the standards of training given to staff, who were described as "reliable, kind and caring," and understood their responsibilities to report abuse or unsafe practice.

Medicine management was found to be in line with good practice guidance, and service users told inspectors that they felt safe when being supported by staff.

Risk was appropriately managed and, where identified, good practice guidance was referred to by staff.

Inspectors noted that both people and their families were consulted on all aspects of their care and support, with personalised care plans based upon their life history, likes and preferences.

Alice Roberts, the company’s director and care-coordinator, said: “Congratulations and a very well deserved thank you go to an amazing team which includes Helena Roberts, Min Nedic and Sarah Davis.

“We are going from strength to strength and continually working together to provide a recognised, outstanding service."
