A GOLFING memorial day will be held for sportswoman Sue Sheppard who died from cancer.

Sue Shepperd who was from Pershore, died at the age of just 51.

Organiser of the event, John Vincent, said: "She was a very keen sportswoman, very much into her fitness and a real lovely, vibrant character, and enjoyed life very much until it was cut short from pancreatic cancer."

Although Sue never played golf, she was fanatical about hockey and she captained the Pershore ladies hockey team.

She worked at Royal Worcester in the painting department, a job she loved as much as hockey.

The golfing day is a celebration of Sue's life and to also raise money for two cancer charities: MacMillan cancer Support and the Pancreatic Cancer Society.

Sue died in 2011 and three previous golfing days have been held to raise money in her honour in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

The day will take place on Sunday July 7 at Gaudet Luce Golf Club.

Mr Vincent said places are still available for keen golfers to join in and he can be contacted on: JPVincent99@outlook.com or phone: 07967 725988
