A PHOTOGRAPHY evening and concert will explore Rewilding in Britain to celebrate the launch of a new book.

The event will feature a talk by photographer, conservationist and author David Woodfall, who has documented the topic for more than 30 years, followed by a 45 minute piece of illustrated music by Huw Warren.

A panel session will conclude the evening, with a panel of contributors to the book including four members of the Pontpren Project and Alicia Leow-Dyke, who is working on the possible return of beavers to Wales with the Wildlife Trusts of Wales.

David's book consists of over 50 essays by leading conservationists in Britain and Ireland, explaining how they have practically established their projects and the challenges they face in establishing them .

It is the realisation of a long-held dream for David, who worked as a conservationist for 13 years and has a deeply held fascination for the topic.

"Rewilding is an attitude of mind as much as anything," David said.

"When we are able to incorporate this into our landscapes, we are able to live in a much more balanced landscape, where it is possible to incorporate agriculture into a more diverse and balanced landscape, equally rich in wildlife, cultural interests and economy."

The event will take place at 7pm on June 7 at the Bleddfa Trust, near Knighton. An entry fee of £16 will be applicable.
