WITH 79 days to go, carnival organisers in Ross-on-Wye have announced this year's Carnival Prince, Princess and attendants.

Held on the first Saturday of August every year since 1977, when it was re-established in celebration of the Queen's Silver Jubilee, the Ross-on-Wye Carnival is a much-loved tradition in the town

Organised by a team of local volunteers, the August 3 event is also supported by many local businesses and charities and draws visitors from across the county.

Held once again at The Ropewalk meadow, this year's carnival will feature a fun fair, a wide selection of stalls, food and drink, as well as plenty of entertainment, the event promises a great day out.

Carnival Prince Daniel, Princess Phoebe, consorts Bobby and Cody and attendants Molly and Eboney will join the annual procession with its magnificent array of floats and fancy dress as it wends its way through the town's streets to the carnival field.

The Ropewalk will be open to the public at 11am on August 3. Town centre roads will be disrupted from 11am to 2pm.
