STAFF from a Kidderminster doctors surgery are taking on a running challenge in support of a noble cause.

A total of 23 members of staff from Aylmer Lodge Cookley Partnership, Hume Street have signed up to 5K and 10K runs as part of the Stroke Association's Resolution Run, to help raise money for the charity.

The event will take place on Sunday April 28 at Hagley Hall, and many staff have never attempted a long-distance run before.

The practice like to promote healthy living and want to show patients that they "practice what they preach."

People can donate to the group's Just Giving page via www.justgiving.com/fundraising/aylmerlodgecookleypartnership?utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_content=AylmerLodgeCookleyPartnership&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_source=Sharethis&utm_term=2qrDD4zQR

Lisa Benton from Aylmer Lodge Cookley Partnership said: "A number of us are working hard with our training, going out running three or four times per week.

"We have downloaded the couch to 5K app for our phones and we are following guidance. We are looking forward to the day a great deal.

"Aylmer Lodge have paid for our entrance fees as they like to encourage staff to take part in charity events and get a little fitter at the same time.

"We hope to raise £1,000 for this very valuable charity. Any sponsorship would be gratefully received."
