OVER 170 of Worcestershire's Legal professionals gathered for the Annual Worcestershire Law Society Awards, celebrating excellence in the legal profession over the last year.

The Guest of Honour for the evening was Wayne Barnes, international rugby referee and acclaimed barrister who gave an after dinner speech to the room.

Worcestershire Law Society President, Patricia Beeching said: "Worcestershire Law Society Annual Awards Dinner 2019 was a truly memorable evening.

"The Society had possibly its highest number of nominations to date and a formidable shortlist of potential winners.

"Congratulations to all those who did win an award and huge thanks to Laura Bligh, Alex Phillips and Priya Tromans who worked so

hard to create such a splendid event.

"There was good food, good company, and a wonderful speaker in Wayne Barnes and excellent entertainment.

"Even the weather was kind"

Professional Discipline, Private Client Team of the Year: Hallmark Hulme

Barrister of the Year - Nicholas Starks: St Ives Chambers

Solicitor of the Year – Andrew Bradley: Bradley Haynes Law

Lifetime Achievement Award: Jim Quinn: mfg Solicitors

The event was held on Friday 29 March at Grafton Manor and hosted by the law society, which was established in 1841 to promote and support local lawyers in Worcestershire.
