FOUR neighbours in Redditch have scooped an impressive £30,000 each from the People’s Postcode Lottery.

The Feckenham Road residents netted the five figure sum when their lucky postcode, B97 5AS, was announced as a winner on Sunday, February 3.

Among the winners was retired 80-year-old Peter Lovett who said he was quite shocked when the People’s Postcode Lottery team came knocking on his door.

Peter said: “It’s not every day you get a surprise like this. I didn’t believe it was real when I received the phone call, so I think it will take quite a while to sink in, but it’s been a very nice afternoon indeed.”

Golf fan Peter is also planning to put his winnings towards a holiday to one of his favourite golfing spots in Bridlington.

He commented: “I love to go away and play golf with friends from my local club and have recently booked a trip, but I think I’ll be booking a second one later in the year now.

I’m sure it’ll be the talk of the clubhouse when everyone finds out how much I’ve won.

“I’m going to make sure I use this money to enhance the enjoyment I get out of life. I’ve got a son and a grandson too, so I’m sure they’ll benefit as well.”

The remaining three winners weren’t available to collect their cheque in person, but their prize will be paid into their bank account.

Presenting Peter with his prize was People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson.

He said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled for Peter and I hope our other winners in Redditch all take a leaf out of his book and use the windfall to enhance their life by taking the time to do something they love.”

Mental Health Action Group Redditch is one of many good causes close to the winners that has benefitted from players support.

It 2018 it was awarded £20,000 to deliver coaching, support and arts activities to people experiencing poor mental health.
