A DEMENTIA awareness group held a pop-up event last Thursday (December 13) to help promote Wyre Forest services that support people facing the syndrome.

Kidderminster Dementia Action Alliance hosted the event at Starbucks Coffee in Weaver's Wharf, inviting representatives from numerous 'dementia friendly' organisations in the area to talk about their services to carers.

Groups in attendance included the police, fire service and Triangle Day Care Services, as well as the Mayor of Kidderminster, Councillor Martin Stooke.

Martin Stooke said: “I am delighted that the Town Council is able to support this event and I would like to thank all the staff at Starbucks for making us so welcome.

"It is important that we work to share information with the community on the best services available to people with dementia.”
