A NEAR capacity audience at Redditch's Trinity High School were recently entertained by one of the UK's leading big band groups.
A concert was performed by the widely acclaimed Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra, under the guidance of musical director John Ruddick, MBE.
The concert was promoted by The Rotary Club of Redditch, in partnership with the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra (MYJO), to help support the MYJO’s work in music education, and also to support the rotary club’s local charity, Batchley Support Group.
Two sets on the evening contained a number of classics together with plenty of seasonal material.
John Ruddick, an in-demand jazz trumpeter and flugel-horn player, has performed with top ensembles including the BBC Big Band, the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, the Shirley Bassey Orchestra and the Stanley Black Orchestra.
