DELIGHTED staff at an independent Wolverley school are celebrating after inspectors gave them a positive report.

The Independent Schools Inspectorate spent two days at Heathfield Knoll in September and praised the education being provided and all aspects of school life.

Key findings showed that areas such as quality of education and the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils, their welfare, health and safety.

Inspectors also said the suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietor, school premises, quality of leadership, provision of information and the manner in which complaints are handled all passed the strict guidelines.

Heathfield Knoll head teacher Lawrence Collins said: "I am delighted to report that we were judged to be compliant in all areas.

“This is the result of a huge amount of hard work in recent years by my senior leadership team and all of the staff and trustees at the school."

Doug Jackson, Chairman of Trustees said: "These regulatory compliance inspections are much more than just a ‘box-ticking’ exercise, although there is certainly plenty of that!

“Evidence used to inform the judgements, included, parent and pupil questionnaires, lesson observations, work scrutiny, pupil and staff interviews and first-hand observations.

“The outcomes of this cumulative body of work indicate that the school is being run efficiently, safely and to a high standard. These things have a large impact on the quality of education that the children receive at this school, so they are really important.

"This is an important vote of confidence from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) and it provides a solid foundation on which we can construct our new development plans.

“It also gives a huge boost to the future potential of all our pupils and marks a watershed in the consolidation of the new school, post-merger.

"In 2020 the school will be celebrating 400 years and as we approach that date, the school finds itself in very good health.

“On behalf of the trustees, I'd like to thank Mr Collins and his staff for accepting nothing but the best for our pupils and their families."
