A MAN who downloaded vile indecent films and photographs of young children at the Oldbury home of his
sister has avoided spending time behind bars.
Police officers raided the Temple Way property where Erlandas Majauskas, aged 26, kept his computer and they later discovered
the sickening images.
There were seven films in the worst category together with twenty three moving images showing extreme pornography,
said Hugh O'Brien-Quinn prosecuting.
He told Wolverhampton Crown Court that Majauskas, a machine operator, either stayed at or made frequent use of the
Oldbury address where he kept his computer.
When questioned by officers Majauskas admitted he had downloaded the images and that he was the only person with
the password to gain access to the computer
Majauksas of Waterloo Road, Smethwick, admitted two charges of making indecent images of children and another of
possessing extreme pornography.
A man of previous good character he was given a two year community order, told to carry out 10 hours unpaid work in
the community and to pay £535 costs.
Jabheen Akhtar, for Majauskas, stressed the number of images involved were comparatively low compared to other
cases that came before the court and said her client admitted he had made the "biggest mistake of his life".
Judge James Burbidge QC told Majauskas the community order coupled with a course of rehabilitation would provide
the best possible protection for the public.
