BROMSGROVE Council is supporting World Mental Health Day by highlighting events and projects going on around the district.

In the run up to World Mental Health Day on October 10, which this year focuses on young people, the council will be publicising events ranging from a hate crime awareness conference, an educational seminar on child sexual exploitation, and ongoing active sessions to stimulate body and mind.

All of these will be promoted via the #wmhd on social media.

Cllr Margaret Sherrey, whose portfolio covers health and wellbeing, said: "It really is a changing world and our young people, living in a technology-driven world face a whole raft of challenges including cyber-bullying.

“We want to demonstrate that they are not alone and this council holds events and activities throughout the year which could offer support or an outlet for people who are struggling with issues around mental health.”
