PLANS to site a temporary marquee for functions at Chipping Norton Golf Club have been submitted to West Oxfordshire District Council.
As previously reported, the Oxford Road club is hoping to extend its existing clubhouse to make room for a larger function room, which could cater for up to 200 people.
But the club has withdrawn its previous application for a clubhouse extension, originally submitted in October, to improve the design and for further information to be provided about highways.
In the supporting documentation for its new submission, it said: “It is now impractical for the function room extension to be available in time for the 2014 season.
“Pending it becoming available, the club is therefore proposing the use of a temporary marquee to house these larger functions.”
If approved, the marquee would be installed in the area proposed for the clubhouse extension.
