Viewers of the BBC's gameshow The Traitors have called for presenter Claudia Winkleman to receive an OBE honour from Kings Charles III.

Winkelman has hosted the 'psychological adventure competition' since it first aired on the BBC in 2022 when it became a surprise hit for the broadcaster.

Now into its second series, it's gaining millions of viewers a night and saw a jump of 3,000 applicants for the first series to over 100,000 applicants for the second series.

The latest series of The Traitors is now at its halfway point and has seen huge unsuspecting twists and has created iconic moments in TV history, with some fans suggesting Claudia Winkleman deserves an OBE for her work.

The Traitors fans call for Claudia Winkleman to get an OBE

The calls for Winkleman's OBE come after the latest episode saw a dramatic 'funeral' task as one faithful was murdered in front of everyone as the hunt for The Traitors came to a head.

One X, formally Twitter, user summed up the episode by writing: "BAFTA. National Television Award. An OBE for Claudia Winkleman. One of the best episodes of television ever produced."

As another fan of the BBC show said: "A staggering work of fine art, flawless from beginning to end. We just witnessed the finest TV of 2024, heck the 2020s, and we are only seventeen days into the New Year. Simply sublime, perfection from beginning to end. It will take its place in the canon for decades to come."

The Traitors is inspired by the Dutch series and sees 22 strangers move to a castle in the Scottish Highlands as they work together to build a prize fund of £120,000.

But amongst the strangers are traitors hoping to steal the money for themselves and 'murder' the faithfuls.

The only way for the faithfuls to take home the cash prize is to catch all of the traitors before time runs out.

The Traitors airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 9pm.
