MORETON Rangers' manager Mark Boydell has decided to leave the club after eight months in charge due to 'personal reasons' the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The news came after Rangers were beaten 3-1 by Milton United last Saturday, a result that keeps Moreton down in 14th in the Hellenic League Division One table.

Boydell took the job back in March of this year but the club have struggled on the field for results and have won just four of their 19 games so far this season.

"The club is saddened to part company with manager Mark Boydell, for personal reasons. We thank Mark for his work the past 5 months and look to appoint a replacement in due course." a club statement read.

"In the short term, the rest of the back room will work hard to get a competitive squad together for the games in December.

"Gary Barnett has taken over Moreton Rangers on an interim bases whilst we start the search for a replacement manager. Gary will be assisted by Nick Timms and Mark Magee will continue as player/assistant manager as well as other backroom coaches Joe Jarvis, Sam Keen and James Carter.

"We look forward to the five games up till Christmas and beyond."
