AS Mickleton simmered in the sultry evening air on one of the hottest days of the year Gardening Club members and their guests enjoyed visiting five beautiful Mickleton gardens. Much appreciated were the refreshments provided at some of the gardens which helped counteract the effects of the heat. The gardens varied from well-established to newly planted, from large to compact and all offering wonderful planting schemes. Two of the gardens incorporated water features and all of the gardens offered a choice of seating areas with small hidden away nooks to larger patio areas. Although the Roses had flowered early this year there were still some lovely blooms on display and one garden had many Clematis in full flower offering some attractive colour combinations. Forty plus members and guests enjoyed the evening and thanks were given to the garden owners for sharing their lovely gardens.
