WE began our Club meeting on Wednesday, May 7 with a presentation of cheques to the representatives of three societies:- Helen Hurdman of 'Working World, Ruth Barton of 'The Vale' and Edward Kendrick of 'Severn Freewheelers'.

Following the presentation we progressed to the main part of our evening - a wonderful floral demonstration by Mrs Jane Pugh, entitled 'Dance the Night Away'.

Jane is also known as The Singing Florist - she has a beautiful voice and we were doubly entertained by both her singing and her beautiful arrangements. It was a very lively and interesting evening, enjoyed by all who attended.

In addition to her demonstration work, Jane also has a florist shop over on the Welsh border and some of us hope to visit her in the near future. However, as I write this Jane is in Barbados - for the NAFAS major floral festival. We wish her well with her competition entry.

Our next Club meeting is to be held on Wednesday 5 July in Offenham Village Hall, starting at 7.30pm. Our demonstrator then will be Mrs Margaret Heal.

In addition, on Tuesday 25 July, we look forward to an outing to both Morton Hall Gardens and Cotes Garden - leaving Offenham at 11am. Those going on this trip should pay Sheila James at our next Club meeting on 5 July. It promises to be an enjoyable day!
