Our well attended April meeting enjoyed a informative talk from Maurice Heritage, an ardent National Trust volunteer at Snowshill Manor of many years. His talk "Clear Out at Snowshill Manor" highlighted the extreme challenges faced some years ago when essential areas of the house needed repairs and partial redecoration and the vast number of people and volunteers needed to ensure the safety and storage of every single item on display while the work was being carried out efficiently and effectively. He also clarified how each artifact was protected, where and how it was stored to ensure each item could be replaced in the exact same place as designated by Charles Wade, the who had given the Manor to the Trust. In his long service Maurice has been involved in many less important projects though none more absorbing than the "Clear out"!
Our May meeting on Wednesday, May 23 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall welcomes Mandie Potter whose talk is entitled Colour Magic". We welcome all our members and guests as always.
