ON February 15 we had the long-awaited Music Quiz hosted by Steve Swarbrick and Grenville Burrows. Bow ties were de rigueur but Grenville's was noticeably absent. It was eventually produced, an egregious example which our President, George Bourne, had no hesitation in declaring the most outstanding. The quiz itself was indeed fiendish, as we had been warned, and the winning teams only managed to gain just over half of the possible points. The award of the modest prize had to be decided by the toss of a coin as two teams tied. Steve and Grenville were profusely thanked for the incredible amount of work they had put in to produce this event. As it was the last meeting presided over by our outgoing president, his wife Jenny was presented with a bouquet. Finishing with an excellent buffet lunch provided by The Boathouse, this was a most enjoyable occasion, shared with our partners.
We meet at 10am every Thursday at the Boathouse, Evesham Rowing Club and full details can be found on our website www.eveshamprobus.co.uk.
On February 22 we hold our AGM and on 1st March there will be a talk by Dr. Gill White on Bess of Hardwick and Hardwick Hall.
