ON Tuesday September 12 we had a day coach trip to Wildegoose Nursery and Walled Garden in Shropshire. Lunch was had at Burford House Garden Store in Tenbury Wells and we spent the afternoon at Wildegoose.

The Nursery is set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside and is the home of Bouts Violas. It is a small independent nursery, garden and tearoom housed within the old redbrick walls of Millichope Park’s former Kitchen Garden.

Created in 2011 to safeguard the Bouts collection of Perennial Violas, Wildegoose Nursery has gained a reputation for both its violas and an extensive range of wonderful perennials and grasses.

At the centre of the garden sits the newly restored range of Georgian curvilinear glasshouses, which were restored with the aid of grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund and The Country Houses Association and now form the perfect backdrop.

The day concluded with tea and cakes served in the tearoom.

As part of the club's close relationship with Ebrington Primary School we shall be carrying out a clean up of the school's grounds and gardens over the weekend of September Saturday 23 and Sunday 24. We shall be pruning, weeding, digging and doing a small amount of hand grass cutting.

There will be an Evening Bat Hunt on Tuesday September 26. We will meet at Ebrington Village Hall at 7.15pm. Good footwear, warm clothing and a torch is recommended. We may be crossing fields and moving between locations as we hunt the bats!

On Tuesday October 10 there will be an evening talk on ‘The creation of Little Oak Vineyard’, Chipping Campden’ at 7.30pm in Ebrington Village Hall.
