ORGANISERS of an annual Cotswold fund-raiser are tickled pink that farmer Adam Henson is kicking off this year’s event.
The BBC Countryfile presenter will be launching Walk in the Cotswolds at Guiting Power village hall on Sunday, October 7.
The walk, now in its fourth year, raises vital funds for research into breast cancer.
Joss Bliss, a grandmother of six who works at Huffkins tea rooms in Stow, is preparing to walk the route with grandson Jack, of Guiting Power.
The 56-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2005, but it was treated successfully with surgery followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
“I am living proof that there are effective treatments for breast cancer,” she said.
“I want to encourage as many people as possible from the north Cotswolds area to enter for the walk and help to raise these life-saving funds.”
People can register on the day from 10am, with the walk starting at 11.30am. For details, call Rachel Brockie on 07733 225563 or e-mail Linda Miles at cotswold walk@btinternet.com
