A WINCHOMBE man escaped with minor injuries after a car crash near Swindon Village in Cheltenham.
The crash happened on Hyde Lane just after 8.10pm on Thursday (8).
A silver Subaru Legacy travelling from Bishop’s Cleeve towards Swindon Village collided with a blue Ford Focus, causing the Subaru to split in half.
A 25-year-old Cheltenham man who was driving the car suffered minor injuries and remains at Cheltenham General Hospital under observation.
The 26-year-old Winchcombe man, who was a passenger, received minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment.
Another passenger, a 19-year-old Cheltenham man, suffered minor injuries to the back and a lung injury. He remains at Cheltenham General Hospital for treatment.
A 28-year-old local man who was driving the Focus was also taken to Cheltenham General Hospital with an ankle injury.
The road was closed for about four hours while a collision investigation took place.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or the cars being driven before the incident should call the new non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 416 of March 8.
