PLANNED strike action taking place across part of the public sector on November 30 will not disrupt waste collections in the Cotswolds.
Cotswold District Council’s waste contractor, SITA UK, has confirmed that it is expecting to carry out collections as usual on 30th provided it is safe to do so.
While some members of staff at Cotswold District Council who are members of Unison may strike on that day, the Council has business continuity plans in place to maintain services.
About 18,000 immigration officials could join the strike next week, a month before the deadline for a deal between the government and union leaders on pension reform.
An estimated three million public sector workers, including teachers and probation officers, are also expected to strike.
