CHIPPING Norton householders are being reminded to make sure they secure windows and doors and lock ladders away following a rise in the number of burglaries in the town.
Police say the most of the burglaries have been due to windows and doors being unlocked and ladders have been left outside the property making it easy access for the burglar.
“We can not stress enough the importance of ensuring you keep doors and windows secure at all times even when inside the property and please lock ladders away,” said the police in their latest Neighbourhood Action Group newsletter.
They are also asking property owners to make sure their house number or name can be clearly seen by emergency services.
“Police are often delayed in attending incidents due to difficulty in finding locations because the house numbers and names are not visible from the roadside,” said the police.
