Boris Johnson, 62, is in a career move away from the UK.

The former prime minister and ex-Henley MP - who lives just outside of Wallingford with his family - has been announced as an upcoming speaker at the University of Iowa.

Following his premiership, which ended in the summer of 2022 after a series of scandals, he has engaged in a number of speaking events around the world.

In addition, in 2024, his autobiography 'Unleashed' was published, documenting his time as prime minister.

This latest speaking event will see Mr Johnson talk to the University of Iowa Young Americans for Freedom about 'Saving the West'.

This will be on November 2 and follows another career update from the Oxfordshire local.

Earlier this month he published his memoir Unleased translated in Ukrainian, in another sign of his support for the war-battered country.

When announcing it, he said: "I'm so thrilled that Vivat Publishing has decided to bring out a Ukrainian edition of my memoirs. it has a lot of Ukraine in it. A lot of very exciting stuff.

"And this is a time when Ukraine is under terrific pressure - of course Ukraine is going to win."

The publication prompted fans to rally around the Oxfordshire resident who were left impressed with his continued support of Ukraine.

One person said: "Thank you for your support! Ukraine will always remember your help before and during the full-scale invasion.

"You've earned a special place in our history as a true friend."

Another added: "Buy the book! I’ve almost finished it and it provides a great insight as to what it was like when Boris what PM, reading the book certainly proves a lot of the media and stereotypes wrong!

"But also very entertaining and occasionally witty. Best political book I’ve read."
