A town centre was transformed into a buzzing live music venue for the grand finale of a two-week festival.
The event took place in Shipston as part of the annual Shipston Proms, with this year’s edition concluding on July 4 and marking another successful run of community-led entertainment.
The 'Last Night of the Proms' saw Shipston’s town square packed with festivalgoers of all ages, enjoying live music from 7pm until midnight.
Josie Kemp said: "The two weeks were a tremendous success and the Proms committee of volunteers are already looking forward to Shipston Proms 2027."
This year, the stage opened with winners from Shipston Introducing, the town’s own X Factor competition.
Charlie and Sam, aged 14 and 15, impressed audiences with their guitar skills, and Satellite, winners of the band category, performed a polished set of rock tracks.
The main programme featured three standout local bands, beginning with Orange River Remedy from Stratford.
They entertained the crowd with Americana hits by Neil Young, The Doors, Bob Marley, and others.
Next up were the Texan Peacocks, who had the crowd singing along to covers of Blur, Blondie, Bowie, Oasis, and more.
The evening closed with The DropOuts, who energised the audience with rock anthems including Summer of 69, Highway to Hell, and Ace of Spades.
Ms Kemp said the band was "absolutely on fire".
She said: "They kept the audience on their toes dancing and singing to rock anthems. The crowd loved them."
This year’s Proms featured 32 events, 21 of which were free to attend.
New additions to the 2026 line-up included a musical comedy night, a Dance Fusion event, and a 1970s-themed Studio 54 disco to open the festival.
The popular pub trail returned, offering live music at seven pubs throughout the day and into the night.
Ibiza on Stour, an evening of DJ sets, was a sell-out success.
Musical theatre also took centre stage at the Townsend Hall with Songs from the Shows, featuring performances from My Fair Lady, Oliver, Les Misérables, and more.
The organisers extended thanks to sponsors, supporters, and Shipston-on-Stour Town Council for their ongoing backing.
