A medieval spectacle will once again bring colour and drama to the streets of Tewkesbury.
The Tewkesbury Medieval Festival will return to the town centre in 2026, thanks in part to support from The Roses Theatre, which is helping revive the much-loved parade as part of the annual event.
Most of the festival's activities, including a dramatic battle reenactment and a period-accurate encampment, take place just outside the town centre at the historic battlefield.
While the town is traditionally adorned with medieval banners and decorations, the parade has only taken place occasionally in recent years.

With the involvement of The Roses Theatre, organisers say this year will see the return of "historic pageantry" with a full parade, complete with spectacular costumes, character walkabouts, and medieval-themed performances.
Tewkesbury Medieval Festival will be held on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12, 2026, with the parade scheduled to begin at 11.15am on the Sunday.
The festival commemorates the Battle of Tewkesbury, fought in 1471 during the Wars of the Roses, which resulted in the defeat of King Henry VI by the forces of King Edward IV and marked the end of a turbulent period of civil conflict.
