Large industrial transformers will be escorted through a Gloucestershire High Street.

The abnormal loads, each 22 metres long, 4.6 metres wide and weighing 148 tonnes, are expected to cause some disruption on Saturday, June 20, and Monday, June 22.

Gloucestershire Police will be accompanying the loads, which will exit the M50 junction 1 at around 10.30am.

They will then head southbound on the A38, passing through Tewksbury High Street and Barton Road.

The transformers will join the M5 southbound at junction 9 for their onward journey to Glamorgan.

The force has assured that traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum.

However, they have advised motorists to avoid the route or to allow additional time for their journeys.
