Cotswold District Council has received a plan to convert The Crown Inn in Lechlade into a family home.
Season four of the TV show Clarkson's Farm, which showed the creation of Clarkson's Oxfordshire pub 'The Farmer's Dog', revealed the star had originally been eyeing up the empty pub near Swindon.

The 'permanently closed' Crown Inn was put on the market for £495,000 in April 2024, four months before Clarkson's Farmer's Dog pub opened near Witney, and the asking price has since been reduced.
It's understood that the Grade II-listed Lechlade building was put up for sale after the former owner died, with the site dating back to the 16th century, with a bar, games room, pool table, jukebox and darts board.
The new plan would see the pub converted into a family home.

A planning statement states: "Due to the lack of buyers or parties looking to lease the premises, the owners have taken the decision to apply for a change of use to create a home rather than the building be left empty any longer.
"We are conscious that it is always regrettable when a public house closes and does not reopen.”
While the planning application is submitted, the pub remains on the market, advertised by Sidney Phillips.
