Tewkesbury home seekers have been given new affordable options thanks to a fresh release of shared ownership properties.

Platform Home Ownership has launched 12 additional homes in Ashchurch, bringing its total offering at the Ashbrook development to 20.

The scheme allows buyers to secure a home with a lower deposit under the shared ownership model.

Sarah Williams, sales consultant at Platform Home Ownership, said: "We regularly hear from buyers who are often pleasantly surprised by the quality and specification that can be achieved with Shared Ownership homes.

"Ashbrook is a strong example of that, and partnering with a five-star housebuilder like Vistry means buyers don’t have to compromise on design or build quality, while benefitting from an easier entry point into home ownership.

"We’re looking forward to seeing the first residents move in and observing a blossoming new community establish over time."

The development, built by Vistry, will have two, three, and four-bedroom homes ready to move into from June.

Through shared ownership, buyers can purchase between 10 and 75 per cent of a property, paying a mortgage on their portion and rent on the remainder.

Over time, residents can buy more of their home through "staircasing," until they reach full ownership.

Platform Home Ownership is delivering similar schemes at Archers Grove in Stoke Orchard and Cleeve Gardens in Bishop’s Cleeve.

An open event will be held at Cleeve Gardens on Saturday, May 16, to introduce home seekers to the available properties and explain the shared ownership process.

Properties include a 10-year new homes warranty, allocated off-street parking, double-glazed windows and central heating.

The area offers good access to Cheltenham and Gloucester, with transport links to Birmingham and Bristol via rail and the M5.

Tewkesbury itself boasts a mix of independent and high street shops, pubs, restaurants, and schools, including Ashchurch Primary School, rated 'Good' by Ofsted.

Nearby attractions include Dobbies Garden Centre, which features a family-friendly restaurant and soft play area.
