Search the Public Notice PortalJeremy Clarkson has said he hopes for a better relationship with the local council after a positive decision about his pub.
The 65-year-old former Top Gear and Grand Tour host was given planning permission by West Oxfordshire District Council last week for an overflow car park at his pub.
Mr Clarkson bought The Farmer's Dog off the A40 in Asthall, near Burford, in 2024 for around £1m, opening it up to the public in the summer of that year.

And his Amazon Prime TV series Clarkson's Farm covered the seemingly stressful opening of the pub for the August Bank Holiday.
Unlike his Diddly Squat Farm Shop, The Farmer's Dog hasn't had the same level of planning issues with the local authority.
The new overflow car park is found on a farmer's field close to the popular boozer along the A40 in Asthall, near Burford, with planners successfully arguing that existing parking spaces were not enough.

The council said: "In the very unusual circumstances of this particular case, however, and noting the demonstrated present requirement for off-site parking, the public benefits of granting consent on a temporary basis are considered to outweigh the identified harms."

Responding to that decision on social media, Mr Clarkson has said he hopes it will bring about a “more cordial relationship” after years of disagreements with the authority.
He said: “A big thank you from us and all the local farmers to West Oxfordshire District Council for letting us have a proper car park at The Farmer’s Dog.
“Let’s hope this marks the start of a new and more cordial relationship.”
