Here are five businesses opening new shops in Cheltenham in 2026.
Tesco
There will be a third Tesco store on the Promenade before the end of March after the supermarket giants announced another chain would be opening.
Builders confirmed the timeline and stated that the store is deliberately not opening in time for Cheltenham Festival, as it wouldn't be fully ready.
The location, a Grade II listed building in the Central Conservation Area, previously housed Little Dobbies and, before that, Gap.
Mango
Fashion chain Mango announced plans to open a new venue in Cheltenham this year.
The Spanish clothing brand made the announcement following its annual financial results, which showed significant growth in profits and sales.
Currently, the nearest Mango stores to Gloucestershire are in Bristol and Oxford.
Mirari Restaurant
Basque-inspired restaurant Mirari opened in Club Ocho, Imperial Square, Cheltenham with a press event on January 31, ahead of its public opening.
Mirari’s dining experience aims to bring a slice of the Basque region to Cheltenham, focusing on quality produce and immersive atmosphere.
The restaurant began with a week-long, members-only soft opening, exclusively for Club Ocho members.
Topshop
Topshop is making a high street comeback with a store opening in Cheltenham this year.
The brand, which exited UK high streets in 2021 following the collapse of Arcadia, is now available in all 32 John Lewis department stores.
The new in-store range includes 130 of Topshop’s “most in-demand pieces,” with a focus on the brand’s signature denim.
Holland and Barrett
Holland and Barrett will open a new store on Cheltenham High Street in a former Oasis and Warehouse unit that has stood empty for nearly six years.
Both shops closed in April 2020, and the site has remained unused ever since.
Scaffolding has been erected outside the unit in preparation for the store's arrival.
There is no confirmation on when the new store will open.
