EMMERDALE STAR Tom Lister will be returning to the stage in Malvern for this year's pantomime.

He will be performing in a production of Jack and the Beanstalk, taking on the role of villain Fleshcreep. The pantomime will be performed at Malvern Theatres later this year.

It's not the first time Mr Lister has appeared in a Malvern production, having starred as Captain Hook in Peter Pan in 2021.

"I’m absolutely thrilled to be returning to Malvern for panto this Christmas," he said. "It’s such an amazing venue, and I’ve always had such a great time performing here.

"This year, I’m especially excited to take on the role of Fleshcreep - he’s such an iconic villain, and I’m ready to have a lot of fun with him.

"There’s something incredibly special about pantomime; it’s all about engaging with the audience, making them laugh, and giving them a real sense of festive magic.

"I can’t wait to bring this character to life and to share the stage with the incredible Mark James. The audience is in for a wild ride this year - it’s going to be packed with laughs, surprises, and, of course, plenty of mayhem. Get ready for a giant of a show."

Mr Lister is best-known for playing Carl King on ITV soap Emmerdale from 2004 to 2012. He has also appeared on other TV series, including Heartbeat, Doctors and The Bill.

His stage performances in pantomimes have twice put him in the running for the Best Villain awards at the Pantomime Awards, for his roles as Captain Hook and Abanazar.

"We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the Emmerdale bad boy and West End star Tom Lister back to Malvern - alongside the ever-popular Mark James - for what promises to be an absolutely giant pantomime," said Martin Dodd, producer of UK Productions.

"With their combined talent, the energy they’ll bring to this production will be electric.

"The whole creative team is buzzing with anticipation, and we can guarantee that this year’s Jack and the Beanstalk will be bigger, bolder, and more spectacular than ever before.

"We’ve poured everything into making this the ultimate festive experience, and we can’t wait for audiences to see it."
