The family of a father-of-three from Marshfield near Chippenham with an incurable cancer have launched a plea for help to raise funds for further surgery.

Robin Elcock, 36 is a farmer and a loving husband and father to three children who was diagnosed with a grade two brain tumour in 2018.

He is a member of the Young Farmers Chippenham branch.

Robin's three children are Katie, 16, George, 13, and Arthur, nine.

Following his diagnosis, Robin had a successful craniotomy to remove a seven centimetre tumour from his brain, followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy in 2019.

Regular scans showed everything was stable, until April 2023 when his tumour was showing signs of progression.

Robin then started a different chemotherapy to end the tumour’s progression, and this took the form of six treatments across six months.

In October 2023, Robin and his family were given the devastating news that the chemotherapy hadn’t worked and that a new high-grade tumour was growing.

Radiotherapy was planned to start immediately, but the tumour was growing too rapidly, and now the only option is further surgery.

The histology shows that Robin has an incurable, grade four Astrocytoma, with a prognosis of just 12-18 months.

Dendritic Cell therapy is a type of immunotherapy that uses your immune system to fight cancer.

This treatment will not cure his cancer, but it will give Robin some more time to spend with his family.

Supporters have already raised more than £40,500 towards its £60,000 online appeal target through GoFundMe.

Robin’s wife Aimee Elcock said: “The response from everyone has been incredible. We are getting closer to our target each day and we are so very grateful to everyone who has supported us.”
