Firefighters rushed to an Oxfordshire farm after one of its barns was up in flames.

The fire started from a bonfire that spread onto the Dutch-style barn causing the stored straw inside to catch alight on the farm just outside Combe.

Fire crews were from called from the Witney and Kidlington fire station yesterday (Friday, March 29) at around 3:30pm.

They extinguished the fire using hay drags and high-pressure hose reels.

An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: "If you’re thinking of having a bonfire whilst spring cleaning the garden please keep it under control and stay with it whilst it’s burning.

"Also have means to either extinguish or suppress any fire that is out of place."
