A COUNCILLOR charged with failing to notify of a change in circumstances that would have affected his tax has had his court case moved again.

Colin Dingwall, 72, of Foxburrow Lane, Crawley, was due to be sentenced at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (Thursday 28) charged with three counts of 'failing to give notice of change affecting entitlement to reduction in council tax reduction scheme’.

It is alleged that between March 21 and 30, 2021, he failed to provide information about wayleave income from Scottish and Southern Electric.

The second count is alleged that between April 21 and June 25, 2021 he failed to notify the authority that his capital, savings and investments increased above the prescribed limit.

And the third count is alleged that between February 8, 2021 and February 6, 2022, he failed to report that he was in employment with Community Communications Partnership Limited.

The Conservative councillor, who represents Hailey, Minster Lovell and Leafield on West Oxfordshire District Council, was due to stand trial on February 5 this year at Oxford Magistrates’ Court.

He then pleaded guilty but has now made an application to vacate those pleas.

Dingwall will now be due to stand trial on March 22 and Dingwall has been released on unconditional bail.

A long-serving member of the council, Dingwall was most recently re-elected in May 2021.
