TWO drivers were handed fixed penalty notices yesterday for parking their cars on the pavement in a popular tourist honeypot.
Police officers on duty this weekend spotted a red Mercedes and a silver Citroën obstructing the pavement in Bibury on Saturday, January 27.
Cotswolds Police officers have been clamping down on motorists who obstruct pavements, park in coach bays or block roads in Bibury and the surrounding area over the last few months in response to concerns raised by residents.
A spokesperson for Cotswolds Police said: "Although there is no specific offence of parking on a pavement, there are limits to what is acceptable parking and what is not.
"Responding to community concerns PCSOs Bulbul and Grimmett ticketed these cars in Bibury for unnecessary obstruction."
