Christmas will get underway in the Cotswolds with two free and family-friendly food-themed events, hosted by Feeding Gloucestershire and Cotswold District Council.

Feeding Gloucestershire and Cotswold District Council combine as part of the Cotswold Food Network with aims to bring the community closer over the festive season, but also to highlight the monetary, health and well-being support that is available.

Chief executive officer, Robert Weaver said: "These events will be a great opportunity for families to come together and have fun in the run-up to Christmas."

"We appreciate that this time of year can be challenging for some families, with the added financial pressures of the Christmas season.

"So, we’ve made this event completely free and we hope to see as many people come together as possible."

Mr Weaver added: "There will also be the opportunity to talk to agencies on the day, whether that’s to gain advice about keeping well financial advice or a club to join in the new year.

"There will be something for everybody."

The holiday gathering will feature several child-friendly activities provided by World Jungle with food, a raffle, a children’s disco and carol singing.

Visitors will also get the chance to chat to agencies, groups and organisations from the area.

No booking is required for the events, which will take place on Wednesday, November 29 from 2pm until 6pm at Bingham Hall, Cirencester and Tuesday, December 12 from 2pm until 6pm at Redesdale Hall, Moreton-in-Marsh.

Attendees are encouraged to don their jolliest Christmas jumper for the festive events.
