An olde worlde pub has reopened after being returned to its former glory with a stylish makeover.
The Black Horse in Salford, just outside Chipping Norton, has undergone extensive refurbishment after being bought by new Cotswolds pub group Lionhearth.
The kitchen will serve all day lunches, pub classics and a relaxed dinner menu set around the grill and rotisserie - sourced within 20 miles where possible.
The one-bedroom Salford Cottage, a stylish bedroom suite, can be booked for overnight stays.
The opening is the first of a pipeline of new openings for Lionhearth Group over the next 12 months.
Managing director Scott Macdonald said: “We’re excited to welcome locals and visitors back to one of our favourite spots outside of Chipping Norton, The Black Horse in Salford.
"We’ve given the property a new lease of life, with stylish interiors that retain that all important pub feel.”
The Black Horse will serve local beers and an impressive wine menu.
Guests can tuck into simple lunches and pub classics throughout the week, with an additional dinner menu available in the evening.
All dishes will be made with local produce and served with a choice of sides made for sharing.
The menu includes prime rib or porterhouse cuts from the grill and whole free range chickens from Adlington Farm cooked rotisserie with hassleback potatoes, rotisserie onions, mac n cheese, BBQ corn and garlicky field mushrooms.
The interiors have kept the character of the property with a deep maroon and forest green colour scheme paired with dark antique wood, classic panelling and mood lighting.
The Salford Cottage has a more neutral palate in the bedroom and living spaces.
Lionhearth Group runs The Chequers in Churchill, The Swan in Ascott-under-Wychwood, and its newest addition is The Cock in Combe.
The group will be taking bookings for their newly renovated cottages in Kingham towards the end of the year.
The four two bedroom cottages will each have a fully functional kitchen and be served by the neighbouring Lionhearth pubs.
In December 2023, Grade-II listed The Cock Inn in Combe, will launch with a new dining concept.
