THE County Air Ambulance has received numerous offers of financial help from across the region, following the recent announcement that the Charity would be facing a fuel price hike of 60%.

The life-saving charity hit the headlines when it announced increasing fuel charges would cost the Charity an additional £130,000 a year.

Since the news broke, members of the public and local businesses have been quick to rally support for the popular Midlands based Charity.

Steve Parry, spokesperson for the County Air Ambulance said: "The fuel issue represents a serious problem for the charity. Thankfully the generosity shown by the public and local businesses at this time is very encouraging".

Despite the charity increasing its monthly income in June by almost £70,000 on the previous month, County Air Ambulance continues to face a challenging time to raise the £5.6million required to keep the helicopter fleet flying across the region.

With no government funding or national lottery funding, the charity is solely reliant on public donations and corporate sponsorship to raise the required funds to run the vital emergency operation.

Mr Parry added: "The pressure is still on the charity to raise funds. We need to keep the momentum going by encouraging even more support for our organisation at this time".
