THE annual Brailes Horse Show will return to celebrate its 65th anniversary, after being cancelled last year because of fears about the foot and mouth disease.

Children and adults of all competencies will be able to enter equestrian competitions held within four rings, with trophies and rosettes being awarded to finalists in various classes.

Ring one will host show jumping, ring two ridden working showing, ring three ridden showing and ring four clear-round jumping.

Competitors will come from throughout Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.

An all-day horse show will meanwhile start at 9.30am, with registration at 8.30am.

At 1.30pm, there will be a dog show, with registration at 12.30pm, as well as a flower, vegetable and craft show and family entertainment, including classic vehicle and steam engine displays.

There will be a tug-of-war competition at 1.35pm and from 8pm there will be live music, a bar and barbecue.

Profits will go towards supporting next year's show, local groups, charities, Brailes Village Hall and the village's playing fields.
