STAFF at Evesham Community Hospital have cooked up a treat to mark the 60th anniversary of the NHS this month.
A special 1940s menu was created to mark the anniversary of the NHS on Saturday, July 5 and included such classic dishes as bread pudding, hot pots, cottage pie and braised beef.
Diane Gallimore, catering coordinator at the hospital, said: "We wanted to give all the patients a taste of a typical 1940's lunch to commemorate the anniversary.
"They loved it, and staff dressed up in 1940's costumes to serve it.
"I would say that hospital meals havn't changed that much since then, there is more variety now, but the basic standards of meat and two veg has remained the same."
The old-style outfits were put together by Judy Bennet who works in the linen and laundry room at the hospital.
Mrs Gallimore added: "We would like to thank Judy for her hard work."
