BLACK smoke poured across a business park after a large fire broke out near Chipping Campden this morning, Thursday, August 17. 

Six fire engines arrived at Northwick Business Centre, Paxford, near Blockley, at about 7.30am after a fire broke out at one of the industrial units.

Gloucestershire Fire and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services were both at the scene.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Fire said: "Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue crews are currently dealing with a large fire at Northwick Business Park in Blockley.

"Please avoid the area if you can and keep doors and windows closed if you can smell smoke."

Three jets, one hose reel and a water carrier was used to put out the fire.

A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Services said: "Crews were called out at 7.52am today to assist Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service at a building fire.

"A Worcester Fire Station crew attended an industrial unit at Northwick Park near Blockley due to a sixth engine being required at the scene.

"The building was well alight with three jets, a hose reel jet and a water carrier all tackling the blaze which was split into sectors by crews.

"The Worcester crew was at the scene for an hour before they were no longer required and they left the incident at 9.44am."

Fire crews were asking residents to keep their doors and windows shut if they could smell smoke.
