AN UPDATE has been issued after a motorcycle stuntman crashed during a performance at the Cotswold Show on the weekend.
The rider was performing with The Squibb Motorcycle Display Team at the annual show in Cirencester Park on Saturday, July 1 when he landed badly around 3pm and was quickly rushed to Great Western Hospital in Swindon.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance NHS Foundation Trust said: “We were called at 3.02pm on Saturday, July 1 to an incident at Cirencester Park.
"We sent a double-crew land ambulance and one individual was taken by land ambulance to Great Western Hospital.”
The motorcycle display team announced this morning that the injured rider has several broken bones but will make a full recovery.
In a joint statement the Cotswold Show director and The Squibb Motorcycle Display Team told the Standard: "Today we have had an update on his progress, the rider has several broken bones but will make a full recovery.
"Unfortunately, a gust of wind whilst he was mid-air caused the bike not to land properly.
"Cotswold First Aid and stewards were with him within seconds as they are located next to the arena and the accident was dealt with swiftly.
"We hope that visitors were not too upset and that this alleviates any worries.
"We wish the rider all the best."
